Three important tips for your car’s maintenance

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

One of the things that car owners always neglect to do is the maintenance of their cars.  But if you think about it that is a very bad thing to do.  After all a car is something that you have invested a lot of money in.So you really have to maintain it. Especially since the consequences of not maintaining it is more expensive than if you did do maintenance. That is in this article why I present to you three tips in maintaining your car.

First of all you have to make sure to get your car get’s it’s oil changed regularly. The oil can be compared to the blood of the people and without blood the car can’t run well or if the blood is diseased then the car won’t function well. Generally I tell all my customers of my San Diego auto repair shop to make sure to change their oil every 3000 miles. That direction is enough to keep the performance of your car in tip-top shape for a long time.

Another tip which can be very useful for the maintenance of your car is have it go through regular tuneups.  Tune ups are essential for your car because it lets you make sure everything is working fine. You can also change parts of the car which are already worn out. Customers of my San Diego smog check shop who fail their smog test I always tell them to do this.  A lot of times the reason for them failing their smog test was because of not doing tune ups.

The third tip I woud give is to always maintain the brakes of your car. They are important to maintain not because they are expensive to replace. They are very important because this is what keeps you from hitting other objects which can kill you. Good working brakes can save your life anytime you need to stop fast.  I tell my customers of my San Diego brakes shop to always keep their brake fluid good.

If you can follow these tips your car and your life also can last a long time.

Auto repairs and how to avoid it

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

A car is one of the necessities that people can’t do without. If you think about it, most of the people in modern countries can’t live without it.It truly is a necessity these days. But it is an expensive thing to buy as well.  Not just in the price you pay for the car.But also in the costs that you pay in keeping it maintained or in repairs. And if you want to get the most out of your car then you have to keep it regularly maintained.  So here are some tips on keeping your car in good shape.

First thing that needs to be done is for you to regularly change the oil of your car. It sounds simple but it is very necessary for your car.  I try to remind the customers of my San Diego auto repair shop how important it is. By taking care of your oil it naturally makes your car last longer.  But if you neglect it, there could be major damages to your car.Your car’s engine will fail if there is no oil in it. And if that happens then that would be the end of your car it it would be a very expensive repair.

Failing a smog test is another result of not regularly changing the oil of yor car.Not doing this and coupled with not doing regular tuneups will result to a failed smog test.  It happens all the time at my San Diego smog check shop.I met a lot of people that bring their cars in and haven’t changed their oils yet. And they also never did tuneups for their cars.As a result, their cars run badly. And their engines also had problems. That is the reason why they failed their smog test. But the problems are just begining. Not caring for your cars the way it was mentioned above will result to major problems.

Finally, you must take care of your brakes. This is another one part of your car that is used always. And it is one of the most expensive parts of your car to repair.  One of the pieces of advice I give to all my San Diego brake shop clients is to take care of their brakes.Abiding by these steps will make your car last longer.

Auto repairs and how to avoid it

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

One of the things people hate about cars is the maintenance. It is a waste of time in bringing it to an auto repair shop. There is also the hassle in bringing your cars to an auto repair shop and waiting for it to be repaired.Plus it costs the owner a lot of money. What people usually do not realize is that doing simple things like maintaining their cars’ parts will enable them to avoid those costly repairs and bigger problems. They might have avoided the repairs that they paid for.

During my ownership of my San Diego auto repair business I always advise my clients to do regular maintenance.  I try to show them by doing simple things they can avoid costly repairs. But their cars running smoother is not the only benefit that they can get.  They will be happier with the car they have. This can all be the result when they just take care of their cars properly.

Regular tune ups should be the first that car owners can and should do.Your engine will run smoother when you you keep your car tuned up.  Plus by doing things of a tune up it will help when you have to do a smog test.  One of the biggest cause of failures in my San Diego smog check shop is the fact that people neglected their tune ups.  By just doing regular tune ups they can avoid a smog test failure.

Another suggestion I give to my clients is that they should always check and regularly maintain their brakes. One of the most costly repairs people bring into my San Diego brake shop is fixing the brakes.  Something as simple as brakes can cost a lot.  If they have to replace the brake system it can be expensive. But by just doing simple steps like checking the barke fluid level will help in preventing this from happening.  Also being sure to pay attention to any noise from the brakes as well.Detecting brake problems at an early stage will lessen the damage and the repair costs.

These few simple steps when done by car owners will save them a fortune in repairs.
