How Constantly Changing Your Number Could Affect Your Credit
Sunday, August 30th, 2009As we all know we are in the middle of probably one of the most terrible economic downturns that we have ever experienced, but this does not stop people from wanting homes, cars and nice stuff. Each of these people are constantly trying to get their credit boosted in order to be accepted. But what many people do not know is how much these companies actually know about you, you would be suprised to hear that its actually not that much.
Have you ever had the situation of being denied credit, only to get a reply stating that you have not been successful, when you then ask the reasons why they state that they cannot tell you. They cannot really tell you because they don't actually have that much information, they dont know which bill it was you missed or what different discrepencies you had with another company, the only information you may get told is if you have any CCJs or bankruptcy's because that is available publically.
There are many ways to keep your credit score healthy. First and foremost you should always pay your bills ontime, alot of firms such as mobile contract providers actually work closely with credit houses, therefore missing a bill may have a detrimental affect on future purchases. Secondly and probably quite important is too be consistent on applications.
Lets just say as an example you put on one application that you had a different job title then you did a month ago or you are constantly changing your phone number, then this type of thing will probably set alarm bells going with the credit referencing agency, because firstly you would look unreliable by keep on changing jobs and secondly you will probably look like you are trying to hide an unhidden bill by changing your number.
